The fiber is positioned close to the slit output to couple as much light as possible into the slit.

Sciencetech's 120-9045 high speed shutter is a recommended accessory with Sciencetech's area scan CCD detectors, but can also be used with Sciencetech's LDA photodiodes or InGaAs linear array detectors. This shutter mounts inside a Sciencetech spectrograph behind the input port. Due to its sturdy steel construction, it can withstand approximately 5W/mm^2 (up to about 200 degrees Celsius).
