Sciencetech's [130-REC] is a cooling water recirculator. It is designed to work with any of Sciencetech's liquid cooled solar cell chucks. This recirculator can maintain your sample at room temperature while sinking up to 500W of power from your light source.

This Broadband Thermopile Detector allows the measurement of infrared light in the 0.19 – 20 µm range. This detector has a 12mm diameter sensor, measures up to 3 W (0.5 uW NEP). Please note that this detector head requires either an external display controller or computer interface (such as the UNO-1, sold separately) to show the measured power. This thermopile is recommended for smaller light sources (collimated 500W arc lamps and below) and standard solar simulators (<5 Suns, <500 mW/cm2).

A motorized 6 position filter wheel capable of holding 25mm (1") filters (either square or circular). The filter wheel connects via USB 2.0 to a computer. The filter wheel software includes a stand alone application but also includes development examples for integrating the filter wheel with LabView or C++ software.

An arc lamp is not designed to be frequently turned off and on and doing so will dramatically lower its service life. In addition, each time it is turned on it requires the power supply to ignite it with a 20,000V+ spark. The best option for performing exposure testing is to integrate an electronic shutter system inside the beam homogenizer. The electronic shutter is computer controlled with an activation time of <150ms. Software for the shutter controller is included with this item. The standard shutter controller connects to a computer via RS232. RS232-USB converters are available and work with this product. In addition to computer control, the shutter can be controlled via an interface on the power supply.

This shutter can be used with any mid-ranged powered light source and can effectivley block a 3" diameter beam. See the brochure information for a mounting pattern.

The shutter can also be controlled through Sciencetech's touch screen power supplies, including automated opening and closing of the shutter as well as preprogrammed exposure times. Please note that leaving the shutter closed for extremely long periods of time while the arc lamp is on may cause damage to the motorized components.

Sciencetech's FWG-8 motorized filter wheel has eight filter positions. Each filter position accepts 1” diameter round filters up to 5mm thick. The filter wheel is a compact pancake design with an exposed stepper motor mounted on one side.

The Sciencetech variable focus assembly is coupled to the output port of Model 201-1K arc lamp housing for refocusing its collimated light into a divergent spot. An adjustable lever is used to move the 4 lens assembly along the optical axis. The output beam can be refocused at any f number from infinity (collimated) to f/2. This feature can be used as an intensity controller as the light can be concentrated to any size spot larger or smaller than the 2" diameter of the output port.

To adjust the focus simply use the handles provided to slide the lens tube in or out of the lamp housing. Note that the lens tube has approximately 1” of travel. Stoppers on either end of the lens tube prevent the lens tube from contacting the lamp or from being pulled out of the lamp house.

This assembly uses UV-Fused Silica lenses for optimal UV light transmission.

All Sciencetech LH lamp housings feature a configurable and upgradeable housing capable of being operated in the vertical or horizontal position. Each housing comes with adjustable base plates for both configurations, allowing easy alignment of the lamp to the rest of the optical system.

Sciencetech manufactures grid polarizing beam-splitters for use in the far-infrared and terahertz spectral regions. These beamsplitters divide the incoming beam according to its polarization. The beam-splitter consist of very fine parallel aluminum lines spaced 4 µm apart on a thin mylar substrate. It has the widest spectral range with a higher frequency cut-off than that of other polarizers that work in the near-millimeter wavelength range.
