Highly Collimated Flash Solar Simulators

Sciencetech's line of large area highly collimated flash solar simulators are capable of illuminating targets of 1.8 x 1.5m with uniform solar illumination. Our flash system is manufactured to achieve Class AAA by ASTM standards for targets within that area (IEC and JIS are available upon request). This makes our system one of the largest, most uniform solar simulators currently available on the market. Our highly collimated flash solar simulators illuminate targets with a collimation angle of +-0.5 degrees. This makes them ideal tools for studying concentrating photovoltaics and concentrating solar thermal devices.

The FLASH-ST4 pulse stretcher integrates with Sciencetech flash light sources and solar simulators that operate with the Speedotron 2403CX or 4803CX power pack.
The stretcher is connected in-line between the power pack and the flash light source or solar simulator housing. The FLASH-ST4 produces a flat-top light pulse of up to 4ms duration, with maximum +/-3% amplitude variation during the pulse.

Sciencetech can produce customer flash pulse stretchers depending on your design requirements. Please talk to a technical support representative for more information.

Sciencetech’s FSSP-HC-A highly collimated flash solar simulator is capable of illuminating targets up to 1.8 × 1.5m (or 1.5m diameter) with highly collimated light (up to 0.5° half angle). This allows testing of concentrated photovoltaics (CPV) or other applications requiring extremely high collimation. Within the illuminated area, the central 1 × 1m or larger meets Class A uniformity requirements. Please speak with your Sciencetech technical support staff for Class A uniformity matching over the entire illumination area. The default spectral match is to ASTM AM1.5D.

This product includes a flash system, power supply, collimating mirror, and lamp. Air mass filters are available separately (AM1.5D and AM1.5G, with additional filters available upon request). Available accessories include IV measurement systems, pre-configured host computers, and sample holding and cooling options.
