All Sciencetech Inc (SCI) products have a limited warranty applicable for a period of one year from the time of delivery (lamps and light bulbs are exempted). Any component of a Sciencetech system not directly manufactured by Sciencetech Inc is covered by its own manufacturers warranty ONLY and is not covered by Sciencetech Inc.’s limited warranty.

The Sciencetech Inc limited warranty states that SCI products to which the Sciencetech warranty applies will be free of defects in workmanship and materials under normal use and service. Sciencetech warranty is void if product is improperly maintained, modified, misused or incorrectly installed.

Sciencetech must be notified in writing (fax, e-mail or letter) WITHIN the warranty period of any problem for warranty to be valid. Products under the Sciencetech Inc limited warranty will be replaced or repaired at Sciencetech’s option at no additional charge. Any products being returned to Sciencetech for repair or exchange must have shipping, handling and insurance prepaid by customer.

Sciencetech Incorporated is not liable for any consequences resulting from the use of Sciencetech instruments. Under all circumstances maximum responsibility of Sciencetech is limited to the replacement of the instrument or unit. All customer special developments and R&D products are NOT covered by Sciencetech warranties.

Customers who do not complete payment of their products will have their warranty voided.

The above warranty conditions will prevail unless a specific, independent written agreement has been signed at the time of the Purchase Order.

TRADE-IN ALLOWANCE PROGRAM

 If you are using Sciencetech instruments and would like to upgrade all or parts of it, please inquire about our Trade-In credit program.

 

1. Prices are in US Dollars unless otherwise stated.
2. A written Purchase Order (P.O.) sent by fax, e-mail or mail is required.
3. Only customers with pre-approved credit are entitled to Net 30 Days term on standard products, and 50% prepayment on custom products including R&D projects and OEM products. All other customers require 100% up front payment.  Customers without pre-approved credit who require Net 30 Days term may purchase Prepayment Financing for an additional 3% of the invoice price to have their prepayment requirement waived. If the customer is a reputable academic institution or government organization, this Prepayment Financing cost maybe reduced or even eliminated.
4. Manufacturing of order does not begin until prepayment is received (unless prepayment condition is waived).  Delivery time begins when prepayment for order is received but may vary subject to the availability of parts from vendors and their delivery schedule.
5. Complex orders involving custom development and systems integration may require a technical review with customer feedback before manufacturing.  Please note that such orders do not begin until after the technical review is performed and all necessary customer authorization is obtained.
6. Original Quoted Prices DO NOT include shipping and transportation insurance cost unless indicated.  Quoted prices are based on Ex-Works at Sciencetech Inc.’s factory in London, ON, Canada. Shipping charges and transportation insurance costs will be added to the invoice at the time of shipping unless customer arranges pickup from factory.
7. In the event of a transportation insurance claim, the customer is responsible to chase and collect the claim from the transportation insurance company. Sciencetech will not be financially liable for transportation damages or losses if the transportation insurance company refuse to pay the claim.
8. Applicable taxes, duties and brokerage fees are not included. Canada has no export taxes to international destinations, but purchaser may be subject to local import duties and associated brokerage fees in their own country.  Due to the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), there are no export or import taxes to the United States or Mexico as long as the product is made by Sciencetech, but local brokerage fees may apply.
9. Quoted prices valid for 90 Days.
10. Penalty of 1% per month on overdue payments.
11. Best effort results for all R&D projects.
12. No returns or refunds on most items.
13. Sciencetech assesses all incoming Purchase Orders and reserves the right to reject them due to technical or delivery date merits, or advice the customer of Administrative price changes in the case of Purchase Orders older than 90 days.  All pre-payment deposits would be returned in such situations.
14. Cancellation of order will result in a restocking fee or forfeiting of deposit. Typical restocking fee of a standard Sciencetech product is 20~30%.  There are no refunds for custom made products.
15. If customer accepts partial delivery, Sciencetech will invoice for partial payment of that delivery.  The customer is expected to make partial payment on partial deliveries. Due to the extra delivery, shipping charges will appear separately on each invoice, corresponding to the increased cost of shipping.
16. For custom orders, customers may come at their own expense to witness and sign-off on free acceptance testing at our facilities before shipping in accordance to Sciencetech specified performance standards.  If customer pays for on-site installation, the same acceptance testing will be repeated at customer’s facility.
17. Local and International safety code certification including UL, CSA, and CE are not included in some products and on all custom systems.  Please specify if required as such certification can be included at additional costs.

 

How to Create a Quote

1. Add products to your "request list" by clicking the "Add to request list" button under the product you wish to order from the online catalog.
2. Check the products on your list.
3. Clicking the "checkout" button will submit your request to Sciencetech and a Sciencetech Team member will contact you shortly to comfirm the details and compatibility of your items before outlining an Approved Quotation.  We take special care to ensure that all customized items are produced to your specifications and that all modular items you request are compatible with each other.  Should incompatible products be selected we will suggest other, more suitable options.  While the checkout process resembles an online store no payment or deposit is necessary or required at that time.

We collect shipping and contact information at this time in order to allow for a shipping estimate to be included in your quote.  To begin a project for your order you must confirm the devices listed for your quote with a Special Developments Technician. Once your order has been discussed and confirmed with a Sciencetech Team member, a finalized quotation will be issued. Once the User has accepted the quotation Payment should be made through Sciencetech Accounts Payable and NOT the website. A Technical Transfer will be made and you will be given a project number which will be your reference for further communications with Sciencetech.  

All approved quotes (a quote is approved once the confirmation process is complete) are valid for 90 days pending possible adjustement for exchange rates.

How to Change/Cancel a Quote

If you would like to make any significant changes to a quote before it has been confirmed you can do so by contacting a Special Developments Technician at sales@sciencetech-inc.com

If your Sciencetech instrument or product is in need of repair: Please notify our Customer Support of your problem by e-mailing them at support@sciencetech-inc.com or calling them at 519 668 0131. You will need to provide your name, product serial number(s), and the date of purchase. Our Technical Support Team will inform you whether your instrument is still under warranty or if you are financially responsible for its repair. Under Warranty: Sciencetech will repair the instrument at no cost, except for the shipping cost of returning the instrument to Sciencetech. Sciencetech will only pay the shipping cost of returning the instrument back to your destination after the repairs. Warranty Expired: Sciencetech will repair the instrument for a fixed price that includes parts and labor. However, you will need to return the instrument to Sciencetech for an inspection and repair quotation. An inspection fee of $150US may apply to certain instruments, so please check with our Customer Support first. Sciencetech will not repair your instrument until you have approved the repair quotation. If you prefer not to have the instrument repaired after receiving the repair quotation, Sciencetech will return your instrument at your cost.

Returning Goods To Sciencetech Inc.

1. Our Customer Support Department will provide you with an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) number whenever you return your instrument for warranty repairs or non-warranty inspection. You must reference this RMA number in your return shipment. Sending your instrument without the RMA # & harmonized code below may result in the customer being charged for incurred custom charges.
2. Please complete the Sciencetech Instrument Repair Form and include it with your return shipment. The necessary forms are listed below.
3. Essential shipping documents are: 1. Commercial Invoice, and, 2. your country’s Exporting Declaration. The following information is required by Canada Customs for approval for entry into Canada. Please include complete details in the Customs Declaration section, of the Commercial Invoice:
   • Harmonized Custom Code 9813.00.00.95 [for returning to Canada.] It is ESSENTIAL that these codes appear on paper and electronic documentation and/or reporting, including: 1. Shipping Company Waybill; 2. Commercial Invoice; 3. your country’s Export Declaration form
   • Please Include a copy of the original "Certificate of Origin"
   • Made in Canada instrument returned back to Canadian manufacturer for (warranty or non-warranty) repairs under RMA# nnnnnnn.
   • Consignee (Canadian manufacturer) will be returning Made in Canada instrument back to Shipper (purchaser) after repairs are made.
   • Consignee (Canadian manufacturer) is NOT purchasing or re-purchasing this Made in Canada instrument.

   A completed sample of the Commercial Invoice to be included with returned shipment is available for download below.

4. Failure to include this information may result in customer being charged for Custom charges incurred by Sciencetech.
5. Boxing and Packing Instructions: Make sure the instrument is packaged well before shipping. If your instrument contains a light source, please remove the lamp (light bulb) from its socket and package it separately before shipping. Sciencetech’s warranty does not cover damages caused by improper packaging for returned shipments.

Notes in Original Quotation 

1. Sciencetech levies a Handing Fee to cover packing cost. This fee is typically insignificant, but becomes noticeable if a wooden crate or special packing needs are required. This Handling Fee is in addition of shipping cost and will be levied regardless if the customer makes their own shipping arrangements. 

2. Shipping Charges are in addition to the Handling Fee and will be quoted at time of delivery for inclusion into the final invoice. Sciencetech typically uses Menlo Worldwide (formerly Emery Worldwide) or United Parcel Services (UPS) for customer shipments. Alternatively, customers may arrange for their own shipping by providing shipping details and billing account number on their Purchase Order. 

3. Sciencetech typically insures all its customer shipments to the value of the invoice. This transportation insurance cost is passed to the customer as part of the shipping cost included in the invoice. Should a claim arise, it will be the customer’s responsibility to chase and collect the claim from the insurance company. Sciencetech will not be financially liable for transportation damages or losses if the insurance company refuses to pay the claim. If the customer does not want their shipment insured, they must advise Sciencetech’s Sales Coordinator ahead of time. Please note the following exceptions to this policy: 

A) This does not apply in Letter of Credit payment situations. 

B) If the transportation insurance cost is more than 50% of the shipping cost, then Sciencetech’s Sales Coordinator will notify the customer of this high cost before purchasing it. Should the customer decide not to purchase this insurance, Sciencetech does not assume liability if the goods get damaged or lost during shipping. 

C) If transportation insurance is unavailable, the shipment will be sent uninsured. However, Sciencetech does not assume financially liability should the goods get damaged or lost during shipment. 

4. No payment processing fees is levied if the customer pays by cheque, bank draft, or electronic wire transfer. However, a payment processing fee is levied if: 

A) If payment is by Electronic Wire Transfer, we respectfully request that any transmittal fees levied by the customer’s bank are not charged to Sciencetech Inc. 

B) Only customers with pre-approved credit are entitled to Net 30 Days term on standard products, and 50% prepayment on custom products including R&D projects and OEM products. All other customers require 100% up front payment. Customers without approved credit who require Net 30 Days term may purchase Prepayment Financing for an additional 3% of the invoice price to have their prepayment requirement waived. If the customer is a reputable academic institution or government organization, this Prepayment Financing cost maybe reduced or even eliminated. 

C) Sciencetech does not accept payment by Letter of Credit (L/C) without prior consent including approval of its terms and conditions. Due to the high cost of processing L/Cs, a payment processing fee of $1,000 USD will be levied. To avoid this charge, customers are encouraged to use the 3% Prepayment Financing payment option instead.
SubContracted Services
Sciencetech subcontracts order fullfillment of selected consumables and resale items to Tenon Services of Markham Ontario, Canada. Hence the procurement, handling and delivery of such items are done through Tenon Services without involving Sciencetech. The financial transaction is therefore legally binding between the customer and Tenon Services. For example, the customer may find that their credit card billing, Letter of Credit payments, check payments, and wire transfers is between Tenon Services and themselves.
