This PCI Analog to Digital (AD) Data Acquisition Board is used to digitize the signal from a Sciencetech Linear Array or Single Channel detector into a Windows based computer. A cable (sold separately and different for each type of detector) is required to connect the detector to this AD Data Acquisition Card. Sciencetech SCI-LDA and READ-LDA (for linear array detectors), and SCI-SPEC and READ-DETECTOR (for single element and PMT detectors) are designed for operation with this data acquisition card. SCI-LDA and SCI-SPEC are full featured applications that are sold separately, while READ-LDA and READ-DETECTOR are simple Active-X controls that are available free of charge. For Sciencetech linear array detectors, a separate PCI counter board (sold separately) is also required for use with Sciencetech software.

Multiple Detectors
This AD Data Acquisition Board does not support multiple detectors in parallel. If multiple detectors are used in parallel, each detector must have its own AD Data Acquisition Board and SCI-SPEC or SCI-LDA software. However, if only one detector is required at a time, the detectors can share this AD Data Acquisition Board but the user must be prepared to connect and disconnect the active detector.

Interface Cable
Each type of detector has its own interface cable. If an AD Data Acquisition Board is to be shared amongst several detectors (with only one being active at any given time), please purchase a separate cable for each detector. A detector interfacing cable is not included with the AD Board.

Separate Counter Board For Linear Array Detectors
Due to Sciencetech's SCI-LDA, and READ-LDA Active-X software design, a separate PCI Counter Board is required to complete the data acquisition system. Please order a separate Counter Board when using this AD Data Acquisition Board with Sciencetech SCI-LDA or READ-LDA (Active-X) software. Please note that a separate PCI Counter Board is not required for Single Element Detectors.

Shutter Support
The AD Board also controls Sciencetech Uniblize Shutter for Area CCD Detectors.
