This data acquisition kit includes all cables, and PCI data acquisition A/D board to interface a linear CCD, InGaAs, or Photo-diode array detector head to a Windows Based PC. Although the linear array detector head output signal is analog, it is digitized into 12-bits (4,096 counts) or 16-bits (65,536 counts) via a computer interface PCI A/D board. For CCD detectors, only the 16-bit system is recommended. The power supply is not included here, as it is included with the detector head itself. Full featured Sci-LDA software application that operates the detector with Sciencetech spectrographs is sold separately.

Although Sciencetech has two 12-bit AD Board options, the one included here is the regular gain version.

Please note that this data acquisition system requires Sciencetech software as it will not function on its own. It is also not realistic to think that a user can develop his own software as interface documentation is not available at this time. Sciencetech provides two software for this data acquisition system. One is Sci-LDA, which is a full featured Windows XP based application that also interfaces the data acquisition of Sciencetech's multi-channel detectors with the motorized actions of Sciencetech spectrographs, filter-wheels, slits and other accessories. Alternatively, Sciencetech also provides an Active-X software called READ-LDA which just acquires data from the detector via this multi-channel data acquisition system.

Read-LDA Active-X
The Read-LDA Active-X software can be used either as a stand-alone Windows based application, or its control features can be incorporated into a larger application written in C++, Visual Basic, Java, or even Lab-View which are all Active-X compatible. This Read-LDA software is currently sold separately.
