The Sciencetech 500-1K is a variable DC power supply for Cermax Xe arc lamps from 800 W to 1.2kW. It can drive lamps with a voltage of up to 24V and currents up to 50A. This power supply has a built-in igniter, and requires 230VAC-240VAC input. Two controller options are available: an analog controller for compatibility with the FS-02 optical feedback unit, and a digital controller for use without the FS-02 optical feedback unit. Lamp Cable Connection The power supply cables have Superior Electric Supercon PS50GR/PS50GB connector ends for mating with Sciencetech models 200-1K and 201-1K arc lamp housings which uses Superior Electric RP50GB/RP50GR terminals. Please note that the connectors on these lamp cables are female for safety reasons. The lamp housing terminals have recessed mail terminals. Digital Display As the power setting is adjustable, the actual power is shown on an LCD digital display. Warning for Use in North America! Please note that this power supply requires 230-240VAC input voltage. Hence the high power 240VAC electrical outlet needs to be provided for this power supply or the use of a voltage setup transformer to convert a 120VAC outlet to a 240VAC outlet. In this latter case, please note that this power supply can operate as high as 10A which essentially means it will hog much of the capacity of the circuit. Input Voltage Requirements - USA and Canada The 1000W power supply requires 240VAC plug for the light source, and 120VAC plug for the cooling system. Please note that there are two common 220VAC plug styles used in North America, the NEMA L6-15 and NEMA 6-15. The NEMA L6-15 has a twist lock whereas the NEMA 6-15 does not. Please specify the type which is used in your laboratory.
