Beam Turning Assembly with Cold Mirror

Main Features:
  • 45° mirror to deflect the light 90° such that it points downwards for a horizontal not vertical target spot
  • Optional Cold Mirror Version to elliminate IR light (thermal heat) on sample
Beam Turning Assembly
CTBT seen as attached to SF150 Solar Simulator
SKU: CTBT-C-UV-SF150

This beam turning assembly is mounted to the output port of a Sciencetech SF-150 Solar Simulator, 201-100 arc lamp housing, or TH3 QTH lamp housing for the purpose of redirecting the light downwards onto the horizontal table top surface. If a filter holder is used as in the case of the SF-150 solar simulator, this beam turning assembly is placed after the filter holder. Without this beam turning assembly, the light would shine towards a vertical wall surface. This beam turning assembly consist of a flat UV enhanced mirror mounted on a 45° angle and is located after the lamp housing's collection lens at the output port. An optional cold mirror version is available to eliminate IR Light and thermal heat on the sample.
The standard beam turning assembly has a regular mirror to redirect the light downwards towards the ground. This regular mirror can be replaced with a cold mirror such that IR light (or thermal heat) can be eliminated as such a mirror only reflects UV and Visible light. Please note that cold mirrors are not 100% efficient in the UV and Visible range. For example, it only reflects 90% of the UV light between 220-400nm and 50% between 140-220nm. In addition, since IR light is not reflected, it is directed in the foward direction. WARNING! An operator should not sit in front of the beam turning assembly as strong heat would be radiated by light source. The operator would not be able to see this IR light.
