Sciencetech Pv Solar Cell Testing - Quantum Efficiency Measurement System (PTS-2-QE) allows for SR, QE and IV measurements with user friendly software. The system includes a main xenon arc lamp, monochromator with automated order sorting filters, a steady-state solar simulator Class AAA bias light source, IV tester, reference detector, measurement electronics, computer, and all software required to measure solar cell characteristics. The PTS-2-QE system provides users with a light tight sample chamber for all measurements. There is also an optional upgrade for IQE measurements. Shielded and light tight test area enclosure has convenient removable cover allowing access from top, front and sides.

 



The PV Cell Testing System performs:

• Induced Voltage (IV) : VOC , ISC, Rshunt, Pmax, efficiency %, and fill factor
• Spectral Response : 250 - 2500 nm scanning range
• Quantum Efficiency
• Photocurrent measurement : Resolution 10 picoampere to 10 microampere.
• IQE measurement upgrade available
• Monochromatic light power up to 125 mW
• Keithley 2400 series source meter
• Stanford SR800 series lock-in amplifier
• Light-tight measurement chamber
• Manually controlled shutter
• Bias voltage range of 0 to 200 V
• User-friendly software for data acquisition

    The PTS-2-QE system allows an overall "external" quantum value measurement, which is considered the most important factor in cell testing. It includes all the Spectral Response equipment of the PTS-1, as well as a bias light and additional electronics and software to seamlessly allow user-friendly measurements of Quantum Efficiency. The PTS-2 can be upgraded to include Internal Quantum Efficiency measurements, or to include the necessary parts to allow Constant Photocurrent Method measurements (PTS-3).

  2. Photovoltaic Testing System Constant Photocurrent Method

    (PTS-3-CPM) Constant Photocurrent Method System

    The PTS-3-CPM allows users the same ability to measure IV, Spectral Response, and Quantum Efficiency as the PTS-1 and PTS-2, but adds the powerful Constant Photocurrent Method (CPM). The CPM system illuminates the sample solar sell with a bias solar light source while a separate light source is modulated to cover a specified spectrum. The bias source ensures that the signal is not dominated by the non-linear response at low-level illumination, but rather gives a baseline response dependent on the wavelength of the modulated source.   3. Photovoltaic Testing System Dual Beam Photocurrent

    (PTS-3-DBM) Dual Beam Photocurrent Method

    The PTS-3-DBPM has the same ability to measure IV, Spectral Response, and Quantum Efficiency as the PTS-1 and PTS-2 systems, but adds the powerful technique of the Dual Beam Photoconductivity Method. The DBPM system is based on maintaining constant photocurrent over the range of photon energy to get constant quasi-Fermi levels. Furthermore, the DBPM system has the additional capability to vary the bias light source intensity.     The PTS-3-PTD has the same capabilities to measure IV, Spectral Response, and Quantum Efficiency as the PTS-1 and PTS-2 systems, but adds the powerful photothermal deflection spectroscopy (PDS) method allowing for the direct measurement of the sub-gap absorption of the sample by utilizing the mirage effect.     PTS Internal Quantum Efficiency/IPCE Upgrade

    For Internal Quantum Efficiency, instead of attempting to measure reflectance losses directly using an integrating sphere method, Sciencetech determines total QE losses by making two QE measurements under different conditions which emphasize external surface effects, allowing losses due to reflection and scattering to be inferred more accurately than would normally be possible to measure. This allows a wider range of sample sizes, and provides accurate, precise information on IQE.
