Filter Option



Neutral density wire mesh filter, transmitting a percentage of incident light, mounted in an FT style holder. These filters are robust to high-powered applications (such as solar simulation), do not affect the non-uniformity of the target, and transmission is spectrally flat. Please select the desired transmission percentage for your application.

Each filter is mounted in an FT-style filter holder (compatible with most Sciencetech solar simulators and FB-style filter boxes).

Please note that for some simulator models the same filter is used to supply an AM1.5G spectral match. Purchasing separate AM1.5G and AM1.5D filters for the same model simulator may not provide a different spectrum.

Continuous piecewise attenuation is available throughout the attenuation range. The attenuator is controlled from the PLC touchscreen on the instrument control unit. A test report including the irradiance at the target by step size is provided. The attenuator may affect the uniformity level at the target.

The SCI-MO reference cell is a robust PCB-mounted solar cell with an active area of 22 × 7mm. The SCI-MO is intended to be used as a reference monitor for determining solar simulator sun level. These reference cells are calibrated for 1 Sun AM1.5G using a Sciencetech Class AAA (ASTM E927-19) solar simulator. Two calibration values (Isc) in mA/Sun and mV/Sun are provided. The SCI-MO is used as the reference cell in PTS-series instruments.

Readout options for the SCI-MO require accessories. They are:
Current (in mA): in no load mode, requires a source meter (such as in SSIVT-series current-voltage measurement systems) to read out.
Voltage (in mV): in loaded mode, requires a simple voltmeter/multimeter (such as MULTIMETER), or a source meter (such as in SSIVT-series current-voltage measurement systems) to read out.
Suns: in no load mode, requires SOL-METER to read out (using current, an integrated load resistor, and a pre-loaded calibration value to display Suns).

Readout accessories, such as SOL-METER, MULTIMETER, and SSIVT-series instruments are sold separately.

The reference cell can be switched into loaded or unloaded mode via a surface mounted switch on the top of the detector PCB. A calibration value is provided for each mode of operation.
A disconnectable 1.2m long cable assembly with 4 color coded banana plugs is provided with each device.

The SCI-MO reference cell is RoHS compliant.

The temperature sensor is a 100 ohm platinum Resistance Temperature Detector (RTD).

The SCI-REF-Q Solar Reference Cells come with a Sciencetech certificate of calibration and compatible set of connecting cables.
The certificate includes:

The 611-EXIGN is an external igniter for the 611 series power supply. The 611-EXIGN is designed for integtration of the 611 series supply with custom or third party Xenon short arc lamp houses. The 601-EXIGN is an external igniter for the 601 series power supply. The 601-EXIGN is designed for integration of the 601 series supply for custom builds where a lamp house cannot be used, or for integration with legacy Sciencetech lamp houses.
The 601-EXIGN connects to the 601 series supply with the standard 601-CABLE. HV wires with sheathed banana plugs are supplied for connecting the 601-EXIGN to the custom interface. The distance from the igniter to the arc lamp is important and should not exceed 20" in order to provide reliable ignition.
The standard 24VDC interlock for Sciencetech lamp houses is defeated inside the igniter.
Sciencetech 601-150 power supplies with a 601-EXIGN attached are designed to operate with Xenon short arc lamps with voltages of 20VDC and nominal current of 7.5A
Sciencetech 601-300 power supplies with 601-EXIGN attached are designed to operate with Xenon short arc lamps with voltages of 20VDC and nominal current of 15A
Unless purchased with a Sciencetech lamp solution customers are responsible for cooling the Xenon short arc lamp and providing the required safety interlock for operation of the light source.
